Built by players. Tested on the field.
Football Gear Lab is an independent review site dedicated to helping players at every level find the right gear — from pee-wee to varsity to weekend warriors.
/ Our Mission
We started Football Gear Lab because we were tired of gear guides written by people who had never strapped on a helmet. Every review on this site is built around real-world performance — protection, fit, comfort, and value — not sponsored talking points.
Our goal is simple: give you the honest, no-fluff breakdown you need to make a smart buy. Whether you're a parent outfitting a kid for their first season or a skill player chasing the best drip on the field, we've done the research so you don't have to.
/ How We Review
Independent Research
We research every product category thoroughly — reading manufacturer specs, studying player feedback, and cross-referencing safety certifications before we ever write a word.
Honest Ratings
Our 1–5 star ratings reflect real performance across protection, fit, comfort, and value. We don't inflate scores for brands that pay more.
Value-First Picks
We always include a budget pick in every category. Great gear shouldn't require a pro contract.
Regularly Updated
Gear changes every season. We revisit our top picks regularly to make sure our recommendations stay current.
